Episode 124 | Find Rest Now: An Interview with Jon Seidl

Written by Jenni Catron | Sep 15, 2021 1:50:08 AM

If we want to lead with all of who we are--heart, soul, mind, and strength--we must be able to first know who we are. And how we are. Though discussions about mental health are becoming more common, there's much to learn about leading through seasons that are fraught with anxiety.

In this episode, Jenni talks with Jon Seidl about his own journey as a successful leader who also struggles with anxiety and OCD. Jon will help you not only attend to your own anxiety challenges, but he serves as a guide for how to walk with those you lead through mental health struggles.

About Jon

Jonathon (Jon) M. Seidl has spent over a decade in digital media and is the founder and president of The Veritas Creative, a digital media consulting and content creation firm. Most recently he served as the managing editor of Kirk Cameron's TheCourage, where he oversaw content and material focused on faith, family, and culture. Before TheCourage, Seidl served as the editor-in-chief of I Am Second, a Christian non-profit that tells stories of incredible life transformation.

In 2016, Jon opened up for the first time about his mental health experience: He was diagnosed with anxiety and OCD in 2014. He has become an ardent supporter of mental health awareness and is especially a strong voice for how the Christian church can better handle the issue. His forthcoming book on the topic, Finding Rest: A Survivor’s Guide to Navigating the Valleys of Anxiety, Faith, and Life, will be released by Kregel Publishers in on September 28, 2021. However, in the pre-order period it has already become a #1 bestseller and #1 new release in several mental health categories on Amazon.

He graduated from The King's College-New York City with a degree in politics, philosophy, and economics, and spent a total of seven years living in New York City. Although he is a Green Bay Packers fanatic, he and his wife live in the Dallas, Texas, area with their daughter Annie Rose, son Jack Lewis (who is named after C.S.) and dogs Gus and Lulu.
